The World Poker Store Inc. (PINKSHEETS: WPKS) and The Bar Poker League hosted its third Texas Hold 'em State Finals tournament Saturday January 27th at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, MN. With over 1,000 players and spectators in attendance, the tournament boasted player participation of almost 600 of The Bar Poker League's best poker players. Over 1,000 league members were invited to the event through The Bar Poker League, a Free Texas Hold 'em league operated by The World Poker Store hosting weekly tournaments at bars and restaurants throughout the state of Minnesota. Players qualify for state finals events hosted at local casinos through a progressive point system accumulating points over a 6 month period. The casino partner awards the $10,000 WSOP Main Event Seat grand prize along with airfare to Las Vegas and accommodations for the World Series of Poker held annually in July and other runner up prizes are awarded as well. The Bar Poker League currently has 17,000 plus registered members and continues to grow in Minnesota and through expansion into other states in 2007. Barb Silberglitt from Mora, Minnesota took top honors at this event and joins the rank of past State Champions Jamin Neppl of Eagan, MN and Katie LeBeau of Mankato, MN each of which won $10,000 WSOP Main Event Seats through previous, similar sized tournaments lasting 11 hours long. "It's great to see the turnout growing more and more with each state finals tournament we host. Certainly the players enjoy the chance at the big prizes, but the camaraderie and the social aspects of a weekend with friends is what really drives them to play," said Greg Needham, Vice President of Marketing for The World Poker Store.
