Cardiac Science Supplies AEDs for Donation to Miami-Dade County Public Schools

Cardiac Science Corporation (Nasdaq: CSCX), a global leader in advanced cardiac monitoring and external defibrillation products, announced today that the South Miami Heart Center will donate Powerheart(TM) automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the Miami-Dade Public Schools, the fourth largest school district in the United States. The Public Schools will deploy the AEDs in senior high, middle and elementary schools by the start of the 2007-2008 academic year.

At the November 21 Miami-Dade County Public School Board meeting, the Heart Center's Carol Biggs, R.N., administrator, and John Dylewski, M.D., medical director of electrophysiology, presented a proposal to supply the life-saving devices to all the public schools in Miami-Dade County, which was approved unanimously.

South Miami Heart Center is donating the AEDs as part of its community outreach to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest among children, which kills as many as 7,000 children annually. The purchase of the AEDs from Cardiac Science was funded with part of a charitable gift to the Heart Center by a philanthropist, now deceased, and was facilitated by Dr. Dylewski, Rachel Moyer, co-founder of Parent Heart Watch, and Mike Castleman, Cardiac Science's Southeast Regional Sales Manager. Cardiac Science has received a purchase order from the Heart Center for 100 AEDs.
