Dynasty Gaming Inc. (TSX-V: DNY) today announced that it has become an equal shareholder in a 50-50 joint venture with Angela Ho and Peter Kjaer that will own, promote and manage the World Cup of Mahjong, scheduled to take place in Macau in early 2007. This jointly held company will also own the rights to a number of Chinese and Asian Mahjong tournaments, which will serve as qualifier events for participation in the World Cup.
"We are confident of being able to attract up to 4,000 players for this world event based on Mahjong, China's national sport," stated Dynasty Gaming's chief executive, Albert Barbusci. "We have already taken steps to secure major sponsors for this event, which is expected to be televised to households throughout Asia, Europe and Australia." Mahjong is widely acknowledged as being the most played game in the world.
Peter Kjaer stated, "We are delighted to have formed a partnership with Dynasty Gaming because of their thought leadership, the quality of its gaming software and its determination to harness China's millions of Mahjong players. For our part, we are able to draw on a very large Chinese and Asian client base, as well as the long-established reputation of our group of companies as a means of attracting players for the various feeder tournaments, as well as the World Cup event. The combined resources of our organizations will contribute greatly to the success of our partnership and the events we undertake."
