As published by http://www.gambling365.com, eCORGA (eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) is planning to operate one of the biggest online gambling research centers in the world. eCORGA is the largest non-profit organization for Online Gaming player protection and standards, and its move will allow for an analysis and a better understanding of the Online Gaming industry, which has grown tremendously over the past few years.
The research process will be based on a 20,000 players online survey, which will supply the quantitative data for the research teams. Qualitative information will be gathered through focus groups in the six major Online Gambling markets, including the US, Canada, UK, Japan, Germany and Sweden. More than 200 players will be given questionnaires in an attempt to study their habits, preferences and opinions on the subject of online gambling.
The results of the research will be published in eCOGRA's "Global Gambler Report", that is schedule for publication in January 2007. These results will be shown at http://www.gambling365.com when they are published. The research team includes researchers from the Nottingham Trent University and from the University of Las Vegas, working in unison to gather correlating study conclusions. These conclusions will help find ways to ensure fair online gambling, and create standards that protect casino participants from fraud and misinformation of online casinos.
eCOGRA's CEO, Andrew Beveridge, says "Online gambling attracts people from so many diverse regulatory regimes that it has been impossible up until now to conduct research of any scale. It is essential however that player concerns are fully understood by organizations like eCOGRA which provide the only effective monitoring and resolution protection procedures. We think the results will inform regulatory decisions, operator conduct and even software design for years to come." The original article can be read at http://www.gambling365.com/research-to-protect-internet-casino-players.html.
eCOGRA is the only organization that works to protect the public in the online casino gambling industry. This is achieved, among other means, by its Generally Accepted Practices (eGAP) seal that keeps a constant global watch on various Online Gambling operations. The new research venture is expected to provide further protection in the aid of gambling players around the world, and help provide for more secured online gambling casinos.
