(PRWEB) May 13, 2006 -- Everest Poker's first $50,000 Guaranteed Tournament was held on May 6, 2006, hosting 562 eager players vying for a share of the $56,000 prize pool.
The tournament was won by Danish player rio-woddy, who took home the first place payout of $13,488. France was represented in second place by lolofrance, who walked away with $7,306. Third-place finisher Frenzy, from Sweden, won $5,058.
"The response to our guaranteed tournaments has been overwhelming," said Jonathan May, Everest Poker's Property Manager. "Players love our pledge for a minimum prize pool, which only encourages more tournament registrations. In addition to our tournaments with guaranteed prize pools of $250, $500, $1,000, $2,000 and $10,000, we'll be scheduling more big-money tournaments like our $50,000 guarantee in the near future."
