The country's largest college video game tour, Game Live on Xbox 360, is taking the hottest new video game console, the Xbox 360, back to school to educate fans on the future of gaming. The 2006 Game Live on XBOX College Tour will feature both the new Xbox 360 and first generation XBOX(R) consoles, as well as PC gaming on a two-month tour that will visit 25 college campuses around the country. The tour, which is also presented by Mountain Dew, Best Buy and IGN.com, is expected to reach more than 50,000 videogame enthusiasts at 25 universities.
Game Live on XBOX reaches the heart of the game-playing community -- young adult college students. These videogame enthusiasts and trendsetters will not only get to experience the technological marvel of the new Xbox 360, they will get their first experience at playing many of the hottest new titles for 2006 on this tour. Organizers also will stage a Fight Night 3 Competitions and Game Informer Halo 2 and Burnout Revenge Challenge Competitions at each stop -- offering great prizes.
Games to be featured include: The Godfather(TM): The Game, Project Gotham Racing(R), Perfect Dark Zero(TM), Kameo(TM): Elements of Power(TM), Halo 2: New Mapping, BLACK, Burnout(TM) Revenge, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat(TM), Arena Football, MVP Baseball 06: NCAA Baseball, Fight Night Round 3, 2006 FIFA World Cup, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter(TM), NBA Ballers Phenom, MLB(R) Slugfest(R) 2006, America's Army: Special Forces(R), 50 Cent: Bulletproof(TM), FlatOut 2(TM) and SWAT 4(TM) Gold Edition, and, Top Spin 2 from 2K Sports.
"This is going to be the most robust tour we have ever staged, from launching the new Best Buy Xbox 360 Technology Lounge to a live concert at every college campus," said Game Live Events' Founder Antonio Capretta. "The videogame market is exploding with many new options, highlighted by the excitement of the new Xbox 360. We have the privilege of giving gamers of all ages a first look at truly experiencing what this cutting-edge new console can really do, while playing the industry's best new games."
The rubber meets the road for this tour on March 22nd at the University of Arizona. Other schools slated for tour stops include: Penn State, Temple, Oklahoma State University, Miami of Ohio, University of New Mexico, University of North Carolina, Michigan State and the University of Alabama.
Beyond the games, each stop on this tour will feature the groundbreaking Best Buy Technology Lounge -- offering gamers a chance to experience the latest gear in gaming with a complete home theater set-up. The tour will include Mountain Dew Bars, The Fight Night 3 Stage, The Yahoo Music Experience Zone and a live concert with SONY recording artist, Val Emmich and the Rescue Effort.
