CCP Storms the World's FastestGrowing MMOG Market


CCP Games today announced thefinalization of a licensing agreement with OpticCommunications to launch EVE Online(R), its highlysuccessful massively-multiplayer online game (MMOG), inChina by Q3 of this year. The opening of the China clusterfollows the accelerated growth of EVE Online in the US andEurope during the past six months, and will be the firstfully localized and separate game cluster established byCCP. Optic will introduce EVE Online to the Chinese playerbase with a large scale open beta commencing in Q2 of 2006.


The partnership between CCP Games and OpticCommunications will open the industry's largest virtualuniverse to the world's most dynamic online games market.EVE Online(R) recently set the PCU (Peak Concurrent User)world record at 25,665 users, which is greater than thetotal capacity offered by any other MMOG in a singlepersistent universe.

Optic Communications will providethe Chinese player base with a fully localized version ofEVE Online(R), which includes nationwide marketing and sales coverage, management of game system operations, and24/7 customer support service. CCP will work closely withOptic personnel to ensure that EVE Online is tailored tomeet the tastes and demands of Chinese gamers.
